Is fall here yet?!? It doesn’t really feel “fall like” at the start of November with the 90+ degree temps. But we know it’s on the way! We had some fun with our Creepy Crawly bug unit by going on “bug hunts” at our discovery/sensory dried bean table and exploring various insects in our Science Center. What would Halloween be without digging out some slimy pumpkin seeds as well as carving a jack-o-lantern who the class voted to name “Jackie”. We continue to learn lessons about friendship from our alien friend Z like how it is OK to like different things than your friends. The children worked hard at centers with our letter C and H activities as well as learning our Frog Street Press songs about these letters, numbers 4 and 5, the colors orange and black, and the square shape. Our “Home Sweet Home” lessons with ABC & Me allowed the children to pretend they were building a house with hammers and saws by using music blocks, using scarves to wash pretend clothes, and imagining to dig up peanuts to make PB & J.
Activities for November
Letters: H, P, B,

In the above areas, we continue to learn more about the letters, numbers, shapes, and colors while singing along with the Frog Street Press books as well as during our center time activities while making hands-on creations or free writing in our writing center
