Happy fall y’all! Our Halloween parties were a blast with trick-or-treating in costumes, crafts, games, and cookie decorating. Thanks to everyone who helped to make our parties a success! In October, the children had fun digging & hunting for Halloween spiders & bats at our Sensory/Discovery rice table, exploring various insects & snakes our Creepy Crawly Science Center and creating very silly symmetry monsters. What would October be without digging out slimy pumpkin seeds and carving our class jack-o-lanterns. We talked about what makes each of our families special and created our own family portrait houses. We enjoyed visiting Madame Doran’s classroom for our first French lessons. We continue to learn about how to be a good friend through our Empathy & Critical Thinking Lessons from our alien friend Z and with our Buddy Up program. Our Take Z Home backpacks have been going home with students so they can teach Mini Z about all of the fun activities they do with their families at home. Our Frog Street Press songs focused on letters L, R and A, numbers 3 and 4, the color black, and the shape Suzy Square. Our Kindermusik “Home Sweet Home” lessons allowed the children to pretend they were building a house with hammers & saws using music blocks or pretending to dust & wash clothes using movement scarves.
