Ahhh… fall is finally here along with all of the fun that the month of October brings. We have been focusing on “All About Me” activities by learning about parts of the face & body through drawings, our mini people creations as well as our hair color math graphs. We explored a variety of items at our 5 Senses Science Center and tried sour, salty, & sweet food during our taste tests. The children enjoyed sharing a “5 Senses” item from home with their friends and have really embraced the start of our Buddy Up Program. We have been busy learning about letters M (Marvin the Monkey and L (Larry the Lion), numbers 2 & 3, the color orange, and the fun shape Trixie Triangle with our song books from Frog Street Press. Our sensory sand table has allowed us to practice measuring & pouring sand and counting/sorting gems. The children really loved our visits to Spanish class with Sra. Maria and our Music Special with Dr. Davis. The children continue to enjoy creating unique artwork at our writing/art center by drawing, painting, cutting, gluing, etc. Our name daily name writing & triangle shape tracing have provided the children with continuous opportunities to work on emergent literacy skills.
