Our second month of school and everyone is doing great with our daily routine and weekly classroom jobs. All the while having fun and playing with new friends.

Last month children enjoyed learning about Letter A “Annie Apple” and the Number 1 with Frog Street Press circle time books and songs. Our “All About Me & Family” activities were a fun way to get to know all of the wonderful things about one another. Thanks to everyone for having their child(ren) complete their posters-everyone did an amazing job!

This month we will be focusing on friendship and emotions, including reading about our alien friend “Z” form our Harmony curriculum. We will also learn about transportation during read aloud story time and center activities.

We will also start leaning all about transportation though books, activities and our September, ABC Music & Me program with the first theme entitled “On The Go!”

Mrs. Siegel wants every one of her students to develop a LOVE for school by allowing the children to engage daily in rich, extended play and learning activities. Some of our daily activities include: Variety of free choice classroom centers designed for open-ended play and learning which include a dramatic play area, art/writing center, sensory table, science center, block center, math/manipulative/puzzle center, classroom library; outside gross motor playground time; large group circle time activities that utilize the Frog Street Press curriculum (alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors song books); Sanford Harmony Buddy Up activities; FocusedKids mindfulness and calming activities; Learning Without Tears literacy and handwriting activities; Kindermusik music and movement lessons; French lessons from the French Immersion Program; community-style snack time; small group and individual work with teacher; and visits around the DSA campus for lessons in Spanish and Specials Classes that include Music, Art and P.E
