Welcome back!
We hope everyone had a great break and we are excited to be back at school and ready for some fun and learning with our friends!
December was so much fun! We had a so much fun baking, decorating, singing, our field trip to the MIM, visits from Santa’s elves, and of course our sing a long performance. We hope you loved the special gifts your children created for you as well.
We will begin January by creating art to decorate our walls with. Starting Jan 14th we will begin our letter theme. We will create a letter book that we will add to over the next few weeks. We will also begin our journals. We would love if everyone could bring one composition style notebook byJanuary18th. We will begin using them the week of the 21st. (I will send a reminder too.)
Before break we talked about the children’s sign in board with the kiddos. We would like to have the children start “signing in” everyday as well. They will write their name on the dry erase board. If they can’t yet, please let them write the lines or other shapes they may put next to their name. This style of writing is a pre cursor to writing and I don’t want to discourage it.
Our letter theme will continue with songs, and various creations using our name and initials. We will also make edible letter creations. We will use pudding, frosting, licorice, pretzels and other items as we talk about straight and curvy letters.
