Welcome to Preschool at Lone Mountain Elementary! I am so excited for this upcoming school year! Your child is entering the first preschool class at Lone Mountain, and I can’t wait to spend the school year with them!
I have so many activities, ideas, and surprises to share with your children over the next 10 months that will help them grow in numerous ways including socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically! We will have fun while learning in developmentally appropriate ways. I will also work with the kindergarten teachers to find out what skills they would like to see emerging or developed as your child gets ready to venture to kindergarten.
We will learn and play together as a class and participate in other activities such as, music, PE, art, Mandarin, library and STEM. Those will all be in addition to the fun activities in our classroom. In our class we will have Yoga, Kindermusik, and many opportunities to build our science and math skills with baking, and many experiments. I am excited to be on this journey with your children as the first preschool teacher at Lone Mountain with the first class of preschoolers!
Below you will find some information and reminders to start out the school year, We will keep you informed with updates and reminders either by email or check the parent board located by the door.
Thank you for sharing your amazing child with us!
*Please remember to sign your child in and out every day! This is required by AZ Dept. of Health.
*Please send your child with a water bottle every day. No sippy cups. A water bottle with straw is fine. Label with their name.
*Lunch- space can be limited in the fridge at times. It would be best that you pack an ice pack with your child’s lunch. We will do our best to make sure all containers make it home...remember-label-label-label :)
*Please use this Ziploc bag to send a complete set of clothing for your child to change into if there are spills, accidents, etc. label all clothing
*Please have your child wear clothes that are easy to pull up and down for when using the bathroom.
*Apply sunscreen to your child before school. We will not be outside for more than 20 minutes.
*Please send your child in closed toe shoes everyday so he or she will be able to fully participate in activities and enjoy playground time, sports, and be able to easily move around the classroom.
*Toys from home need to stay at home! We can’t be responsible for lost items and many children will have the same toy and think it is theirs. We will have many opportunities for your child to bring items from home and share with the class when we start using our sharing box on Fridays.
