Karen Bird & Brittany WigginsKaren Bird, Head Teacher
Hello! My name is Karen Bird and I am very excited to join Horseshoe Trails Elementary as the new Head Preschool Teacher. I am originally from Southern California and a graduate of UC Santa Barbara- go Gauchos!. My husband, Ryan, and I lived in Milwaukee for over six years before deciding to live in this warm and beautiful state! We have three wonderful daughters; one is a Freshman at Cactus Shadows, and two are at Desert Willow. I love to hike, water-ski, and spend time with my family. I have over 10 years of experience teaching in Early Childhood Education, along with Learning and Development Classes every year. Our Child’s Play Preschool focuses on STEM and Mandarin Chinese. We are pleased to partner with the Lowell Observatory and their LOCKS program. It is such a joy to see a child learn through play, and experience that “lightbulb” moment of understanding. What a fabulous year we will have! |
Curriculum Emphasis:
Horseshoe Trails Preschool specializes in a hands-on learning environment where each child progresses at a unique rate, and has an individual learning style and possesses diverse abilities. In collaboration with the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, the LOCKS program features fun and exciting hands-on on science investigations designed to teach preschoolers about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Horseshoe Trails Preschool offers World Language Mandarin Chinese. Classes are offered 2, 3, or 5 days a week and Kid’s Club before and after-school classes. |
