Head Teacher: Karen BirdHello! My name is Karen Bird and I am very excited to be a part of Horseshoe Trails as the Head Preschool Teacher. I am originally from Southern California and have a BA from UC Santa Barbara- go Gauchos! My husband, Ryan, and I lived in Milwaukee for over six years before deciding to live in this warm and beautiful state! We have three wonderful daughters; Tara, Kristen and Laura. All attend schools in our Cave Creek District. I love to hike, water-ski, and spend time with my family. I have been teaching in Early Childhood Education since 2010, along with Learning and Development Classes every year. Our Child’s Play Preschool focuses on STEM and Mandarin Chinese. We are pleased to partner with the Lowell Observatory and their LOCKS STEM-based program, through the generous donation of the Kiwanis Club. I am passionate about teaching children through play. It is such a joy to see them smile in the classroom and experience that “lightbulb” moment of understanding. What a fabulous year we will have!
