Kelli Siegel & Deb Miller
Kellli Siegel, Head Teacher
My name is Kelli Siegel and I am the Head Preschool Teacher on the ECS Campus. I have been a CCUSD employee for 8 years, working in both Kindergarten and the Developmental Preschool program. I absolutely LOVE teaching preschool and look forward to having fun everyday with the children as well as exploring and learning too. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University and am continuing my passion for teaching by receiving my Graduate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am an AZ native and live with my husband Brian and two teenage boys in Scottsdale. I enjoy doing family activities, watching my boys play football, and working out to stay healthy. The goals I have for my class this year are for the children to enjoy learning and discovering new things, to help further develop their creativity, to reinforce social skills of how to be a good friend and how to properly interact with peers and adults, to expand the children’s knowledge through class experiences of reading, science, and math and, most importantly, to learn everyday through play. My philosophy is that I want the children to be motivated to learn when they have opportunities to play in an hands-on environment that is enriching, stimulating, and safe to explore, making their everyday school experiences positive ones. I believe it is important for children to believe in themselves and know that they are a part of the world community in order to help the children become caring and active members of society.
Deb Miller, Teacher Assistant
My name is Deb Miller and I am the Teacher Assistant at the ECS Campus site with the amazing Kelli Siegel. I have been a Teacher’s Assistant for ECS since 1997. I have had the privilege to have worked with many children over the years in CCUSD. I have raised my 3 children with my husband Tom in Cave Creek and plan on eventually retiring someday in this area. I LOVE helping the children grow each day and look forward to coming to work every day.
Snapshots of all the wonderful things we are learning in preschool
ECS/District Office Preschool (3-5 year olds) is specifically designed to provide children with the solid foundation they will need for later learning in kindergarten and beyond. The Preschool uses the Core Preschool Sequence Guideline curriculum which is based on scientific research of how young children learn. It focuses on identifying specific goals in all areas of learning and setting high expectations for all children. (See coreknowledge.org for more detailed information). World Spanish/French is introduced to expand a child’s knowledge of language and culture. Full-time classes, part-time morning, afternoon classes and lunch bunch are offered. Students also benefit from having School Peer Tutors from Cactus Shadows High School in the classroom on a daily basis and inclusive class time with the Developmental Preschool.
